"Memoirs containing some account of the predecessors, Relations, Posterity & Alliances (with some remarkable Occurencies in the Life and Circumstances) of Josiah Cotton, of Plymouth ... In three parts, originally begun December 1 ... 1726." The volume contains family history written by Cotton, teacher, Indian missionary, and town official of Plymouth, Mass., from 1726-33, interspersed with copies of letters (p. 1-219), and Cotton's diary, 8 Jan. 1733-1756 (p. 219-445). Cotton's diary contains references to his teaching of Indians, local occurrences, news of family and friends, King George's War, and religious beliefs. Probably a contemporary manuscript copy.
